Jennifer Renee (Jefferson) Brown, of Sharon, passed away at 4:17 a.m. Thursday, November 8, 2018, in the emergency room of Sharon Regional Medical Center after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 59.
"Nae Nae," as she was affectionately known, was born September 8, 1959, in Sharon, a daughter of the late James C. and Carolyn (Fox) Jefferson. She was a 1978 graduate of Sharon High School and attended Bradford School, Pittsburgh.
Jennifer was employed as a certified nursing assistant (CNA) by Sharon Regional Medical Center, Clepper Manor and Juniper Village. She was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Masury, where she was a former Sunday school secretary, usher and choir member. Jennifer was an avid Pittsburgh Steeler fan and enjoyed spending time with her family.
Her husband, Darryl "Chewy" Brown, whom she married July 10, 2004, passed away May 12, 2016.
Surviving is a brother, Calvin Jefferson (Monica Sims); a sister, Katrina Harrison; four nephews, Bryce Jefferson, Dorian Jefferson, Brenden Jefferson and C'Angelo Harrison; a niece, Danyall Harrison; a special aunt, Sadie Davis; a God-sister/cousin, Patrice Wise (Maurice); close friend and cousin, Jackie Haynes; close friends, Karla Gilchrist and India Malloy; two God Daughters, Tyarra Kelly and LaChaurice Callahan; and several extended family members.
Besides her parents and husband, Jennifer was preceded in death by a nephew, Kellen Newby.
Calling hour will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Wednesday, November 14, 2018, in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 E. State St., Sharon.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, in the funeral home. Rev. Raymond Brown, pastor of Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Masury, officiating.
Interment: Brookfield Twp. Cemetery.
