Jeffrey G. “Smoke” Seiler, 71, of New Castle, passed away Tuesday evening, February 10, 2026, in UPMC Jameson Hospital.
Mr. Seiler was born May 15, 1954, in New Castle, a son of Leland Stoops and Ruth (Burkett) Seiler, and later adopted by his step-father, William Seiler, by whom he was raised. He was a 1972 graduate of Neshannock High School.
Prior to its closing, Smoke worked at Shenango China for several years. He later worked as a cook, bartender, and also moonlighted as a photographer.
Smoke was a talented cook and enjoyed sharing his dishes and recipes with family and friends. He was also musically talented and played both the saxophone and clarinet.
He was a former member of the New Castle Eintracht, and for a short time, sang in their Mannerchor Men’s Choir.
Smoke is survived by a daughter, Jennifer Lynn Seiler-Schaffer (fiance, Doug), of New Castle; a three sisters, Linda Meli (Dennis), of Clermont, FL, Jane Morrow, of New Castle, Tammy Dohallow (Doug), of Plain Grove, PA; a brother, Tom Stoops (Deborah), of Beaver Falls, PA; four grandchildren, Krystal Vogel (Peyton), Cheyanne Vogel (Damion), Brandon Vogel (Angelina), SummerRose Strohecker; a great-granddaughter, Ava Maria; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Smoke was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Seiler-Divani.
In accordance with Smoke’s wishes, there will be no visitation, and a private service will be held amongst family.
