Jeanne Marie Sovesky, 67, of Hermitage passed away peacefully surrounded by her family Tuesday evening, April 16, 2019, following a courageous battle with cancer.

Mrs. Sovesky was born August 28, 1951, in Sharon, a daughter of the late William and Agnes (Pollet) Walsh. She attended St. Joseph's Parochial Grade School in Sharon and was a 1970 graduate of Sharpsville High School, where she was majorette. Jeanne continued her education at the Mercer County Career Center, Mercer, earning her certification as a Licensed Practical Nurse.

She was employed by the former McDowell's Market, Sharpsville, as well as Giant Eagle and Curves Fitness Center, both in Hermitage. Jeanne also worked as an LPN at Sharon Regional Medical Center and the Belmont Foot Clinic, Youngstown.

Jeanne was a member of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Sharon.

Always active in her community, she was the first women president of the Sharon Little League, PTO president at St. Joseph School Parochial Grade School, and Cub Scout Leader and Den Mother of pack 1 out of St. Joseph Church, all of Sharon. She was also a member of both the Sharon High School Band and Sharon Varsity Football booster clubs. Jeanne enjoyed making floral arrangements for friends and family.

She is survived by her husband of 47 years, David Sovesky, whom she married on May 1, 1971; two sons, Matthew Sovesky, of Canton, MD, and David Sovesky, Jr., of Bathurst, Australia; a granddaughter, Ana Bathurst; a sister, Marge Ryan and her husband Phil, of Sharpsville; a brother, James Walsh and his wife Shirley, Hermitage; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Jeanne was preceded in death by two brothers, William and Richard Walsh.

The family suggests memorial contributions be directed to Club Pet Adoption, 20 Schaller Rd., Transfer, PA 16154.

There will be no calling hours.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday (4-22-19) in St. Stanislaus Cemetery Chapel, Mercer Ave., Hermitage, with Rev. Matthew Ruyechan, officiating.

Interment: St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Hermitage.
