Jeanne Louise Wilson Earnhardt of Hermitage passed away peacefully at 12:08 p.m. Thursday (11-5-15) after a brief illness. She was 76. Mrs. Earnhardt was born Sept. 12, 1939, in Metuchen, N.J., a daughter of Cyril and Elizabeth Fritz Wilson. After graduating from high school, she studied music at Missouri State University. Jeanne married Edward Lee Earnhardt Jr. on Aug. 8, 1959, in Kirkwood, Mo. They moved in 1966 to Hermitage, where they would become the owners and operators of Barber's Chemicals in Sharpsville. She worked alongside her husband in the office at Barber's for several years and retired early to become a full-time mom and homemaker. She and her husband also owned for several years the popular Olympic Fun Center in Hermitage, where she worked in every capacity. She had a love for music. Jeanne was involved in many church choirs, enjoyed singing as a member of the Shenango Valley Chorale and enjoyed singing solos in church for various weddings and events. As a master gardener, she loved tending to her garden and also enjoyed cooking. She also enjoyed boating and camping and all things outdoors. She is survived by her children, Edward L. "Lee" Earnhardt III and his wife Michelle Flickinger Earnhardt, Fowler, Ohio; and Lori L. Earnhardt Huey and her husband Jeffrey M.; Richard L. Earnhardt and his wife Debbie Boggia Earnhardt; and Kathryn E. Earnhardt Peterson and her husband Michael M., all Hermitage. She leaves her 10 grandchildren to cherish her memory, Beth Earnhardt Vinnalaas, Eric Earnhardt, Christa Earnhardt Adams, Jordan and Morgan Huey, Chelsea Trontel, Alex and Adam Stojkov, and Jasmine and Emily Hoover; three great-grandchildren, Caleb Vinnalaas, Lochlann and Molly Leasure Earnhardt; her sister, Beverly Maynard and her husband Jerry, Maryland; her brother, Robert C. Wilson and his wife Gloria, Connecticut; her brother-in-law, John Earnhardt and his wife Sondra, Louisiana; and her sister-in-law, Vicki Earnhardt, Missouri. In addition to her husband, Edward Lee Earnhardt Jr., she was preceded in death by her parents, Cyril Wilson and Elizabeth Wilson Stratton; her father- and mother-in-law, Edward Lee and Louise Spellman Earnhardt; her brother- in-law, Thomas Earnhardt; and her granddaughter, Kimberly Earnhardt.
