Obituary

Jean A. Corbin Thompson, 85, of Sharon, passed away following an extended illness on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, in Hermitage Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Mrs. Thompson was born on May 29th, 1938, to Arthur and Mary Elizabeth (Shaw) Corbin.

Jean was a lifelong resident of Sharon and a longtime member of Oakland Ave. United Methodist Church, also in Sharon.

Jean worked for the former G.C. Murphy company in the 1960s and was primarily a homemaker. She had many hobbies throughout her life including babysitting, card clubs, crafting, gardening, bowling, traveling, shopping, bus trips, and visiting Buhl Park.

But her passion was always her family. She was a wonderful wife and mother and enjoyed spending time with her husband, siblings, children and grandchildren.

Jean is survived by her husband of 67 years, James W. "Baldy" Thompson of Sharon whom she married July 12, 1956; four children, Debra Costa, of Hermitage, Cynthia (Christopher) Lynch, of Twinsburg Ohio, James K. Thompson, of Sharon, and Connie Thompson, of Lutz Florida. She is also survived by a brother-in-law, Don Osborn, of Sharon; sister-in-law, Darlene Parcetich, of West Middlesex; a daughter-in-law, Marge Thompson, of Sharon; grandchildren, Thomas Costa and Courtney Costa, of Sharon, Matthew (Heather) Janosko, of Pittsburgh, Jessica, Jennifer, Jamie and James J. Thompson, three great-grandchildren, Sterling, Silas and Saylor Glaister, all of the Shenango Valley; as well as many nieces and nephews and dear friend and caretaker, Tracy Sebasic, of West Middlesex.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Lucille (Emerson) Viets, AnnaMae (Fred) Kaiser, and MaryEllen Osborn; a brother, Harry (Elaine) Corbin; and two infant brothers, Alfred and Chester Corbin.

The family suggests memorial contributions can be made to Buhl Park Corporation, 715 Hazen Rd., Hermitage, PA 16148.
