Jean Ann Tardio, 90, formerly of Neshannock Township, passed away on Tuesday, June 30, 2015, in Southpoint at Jameson. She was born in New Castle on May 1, 1925, to the late Felix and Mary Sarbo Thomas. Jean married Joseph Tardio on July 26, 1947. He preceded her in death on July 16, 2003. She retired from the Liberty Mutual Insurance Co. as a technical analyst in the underwriting department after 28 years of service. Jean was a devout member of St. Mary Church, Mary, Mother of Hope Parish, for many years. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, JoAnne and John Palermo of Savannah, Ga.; a son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Cathy Tardio of Studio City, Calif.; two sisters, Connie Zambelli of New Castle and Eleanor Peluso of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; a brother, Joseph E. Thomas and his wife, Mary Ann, of New Castle; and three grandchildren, Brandon Tardio, Taryn Tardio and Annie Palermo Chamberlain. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. A visitation will be held from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, 111 W. Falls St. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. in St. Mary Church with the Rev. Pierre G. Sodini as the celebrant. Entombment will follow in Castle View Memorial Gardens.
