Jean was born April 22, 1957, in Sharon, a daughter of Henry 'Hank' and Enis Pilone Russo.
She was a 1975 graduate of Farrell High School and a 1978 alumna of Jameson Hospital School of Nursing, New Castle.
Affectionately known as 'Jeanie' by her family, friends and colleagues, she had been employed by Sharon Regional Health System for the past 32 years.
Jean began her career at SRHS as a registered nurse less than two weeks following her graduation. She initially worked on 4th Front, which later became 6 West, and in 1993 she began working in outpatient surgery as the charge nurse. Jean was named clinical manager for outpatient surgery in 1999 and in 2002 was given the additional responsibilities as clinical manager of endoscopy and pre-admission testing. Jean was a diligent and tireless worker and served on many committees at the hospital. She loved the field of nursing and was extremely committed to her job.
Jean was a lifetime member of Our Lady of Fatima-St. Ann's Church, Farrell.
Surviving are: her mother, Enis Russo, whom Jean cared for at her home for the past three years; two sisters, Mary Ann Mastrian and her husband Daniel, Bel Air, Md.; and Patricia A. Stacklin and her husband Thomas, Hinton, W.Va.; a brother, Henry J. Russo, former district judge, Farrell; two nieces, Stacey Mastrian, Silver Spring, Md.; and Annie Stacklin, Charleston, W.Va.; a nephew, Daniel Mastrian Jr. and his wife Nina, Bellevue, Wash.; and a special aunt, Mary Pilone, Farrell. May she rest in peace.
Jean was preceded in death by her father, Henry 'Hank' Russo in December of 2005.
