Jean Jenkins, formerly of Highland Rd., Sharon, passed away at
12:30 p.m.
Thursday, March 10, 2016, in Tucker, GA, after an extended illness.
She was 87.
Mrs. Jenkins was born March 24, 1928, in Baltimore, MD, a daughter of George Norris and Muriel Clark Smith.
She was a homemaker and a member of St. John's Episcopal Church, Sharon.
Jean was a lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary at what is now Sharon Regional Health System and a member of the former Sharon Country Club, where she enjoyed golfing and playing canasta with her friends.
She was also an avid bowler in league play and enjoyed flower gardening.
Jean was preceded in death by her husband of more than 45 years, Elmer W. Jenkins, former CEO of Protected Home Mutual Life Insurance Co, Sharon.
Surviving are: two daughters, Nancy Jenkins, Tucker, GA; and Karen Fink and her husband Robert, Pittsburgh, and his children, Stacey and Brian; and a sister, Martha Ann Seniff, Frederick, MD.
Besides her husband, Jean was preceded in death by her parents; and four brothers, George, Richard, Ted and Rodney Smith.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Buhl Park, 715 Hazen Rd., Hermitage, PA 16148.
