Jean Ann Hetrick, 93, of Hermitage, passed away peacefully Sunday afternoon, April 27, 2025, in Hermitage Nursing and Rehabilitation, following a fall at her home.
Mrs. Hetrick was born January 2, 1932, in Sharon, a daughter of the late David E. and Mary (Yonosik) Moses, and graduated from Sharon High School in 1949.
For 29 years, Jean worked as an administrative secretary for the City of Hermitage, retiring in 1997. She previously worked at Goldstein Furniture, Sharon.
Jean was a faithful member of St. Joseph Church, Sharon.
She was honored to be a member of the Home Rule Charter Committee - where she served as recording secretary, and also served on the Hermitage Administrative Code Commission.
Jean loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren – especially while supporting them in their many endeavors. She was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan and loved attending the Sharon Tigers football and basketball games. Jean looked forward to Tuesday Card Club for over 60 years and formerly bowled in the St. Michael's and Hickory Retired Mixed Bowling Leagues.
Her husband of nearly 48 years, Stanley B. Hetrick, whom she married November 24, 1951, in Church of the Sacred Heart, Sharon, preceded her in death on September 19, 1999.
Jean is survived by four children, Stanley Hetrick, Jr., Hermitage; Merri Lynne Gonano (Eric), Transfer; Terri Jean Jones (Larry), Masury, OH; and David Hetrick (Michaeline), Hermitage; five grandchildren, Larry Jones, Jr. (Corey), Courtney Smoot (Steve), Erica Dillinger (Joseph), Michael Gonano, and Shawn Hetrick (Leesha); six great-grandchildren, Carter and Adalyn Jones, Sadi, Kaylie, and Bryson Smoot, and Noah Gonano-Dillinger; her dear friend, Ruthanne Black; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, Jean was preceded in death by a brother, David E. Moses (Rosemary).
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations be directed to: St. Joseph Church, 79 Case Ave., Sharon, PA.
Calling hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday (5-1-25) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 E. State St., Sharon.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Friday (5-2-25) in St. Joseph Church, Sharon, with Rev. James Power, as celebrant.
Interment: St. Michael Byzantine Cemetery, Hermitage.
