Jay E. Friedline, Brookfield, Ohio passed away at 1:20 p.m., Saturday (3-19-16) in Clepper Manor     following an extended illness.  He was 84.

He was born August 24, 1931 in Amherst, PA, the son of James E. Friedline and Flora Belle Klink.  He was raised and educated in Latrobe, PA.

Mr. Friedline worked in the banking industry for many years as a security guard at Sharon Regional Health System, and was also a self-employed carpenter.

A history buff, he was a World War II aficionado.  He loved to read books about the military and keep up with the latest news and was a fan of the Fox News Channel.  He enjoyed collecting coins and spending time with his family.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

His wife, the former Catherine Young, whom he married on August 21, 1966 preceded him in death on April 25, 2013.

Surviving are his two daughters, Ann Coleman and her husband Randal, Hudson, OH;  Heather J. Kesner and her husband Craig, Columbus, OH; one son, Anderson "Andy" Young Friedline and his wife Heather, Clarion, PA;  five grandchildren, Grant and Lauren Coleman, Audrey Kesner, and Archer and Alivia Friedline.

In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by his three siblings, Ione Eachus, Ellen Mae Overly, and Robert Friedline and an infant grandson, James Kesner.

Jay requests, 'in lieu of flowers, please do not vote for Hillary Clinton'.  Memorial contributions may be made in his honor to Meals on Wheels, 396 Buhl Blvd., Sharon, PA 16146; to Sharon Regional Hospice and Palliative Care, 1955 Shenango Valley Freeway, Hermitage, PA 16148, or to a veteran's organization of the donor's choice.

A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.
