Jason M. Hockenberry, 34, of Mercer, passed away unexpectedly Thursday at his residence.

He was born November 5, 1976 in New Castle, the son of Daniel G. and Shelley (Palmer) Hockenberry.

He had attended Union High School and was a 1995 graduate of the Lawrence County Vocational Technical School.

He worked as a truck driver for Chambers Steel in West Middlesex where he had been for the past 5 years.

He enjoyed the outdoors including hunting, fishing, and camping.

He is survived by his wife, the former Donna J. Wells, whom he married July 9, 2005.

He also leaves behind his parents, Daniel and Shelley of New Castle; four children, Marissa, Brenden, Sierra, and Kendall; three sisters; Tina (David) Voelker of Erie, Tiffani (David) Desantis of New Castle, and Tonya Hockenberry of Girard, PA.; his maternal grandparents, Shelley A. and Darlene Palmer of New Galilee; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Rev. Kenneth and Mary Hockenberry.

Memorial services will be held at 7pm Wednesday at the Gentle Shepherd Church of the Nazarene, 3480 Shenango Valley Freeway, Hermitage, PA 16148. Friends may call prior to services from 4-7pm Wednesday at the church.

Arrangements are being handled by the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 E. State Street in Sharon.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Jason's family at the funeral home.
