Janice O. Vadala, Sharpsville, passed away peacefully at 7:50 p.m. Thursday March 31, 2016, in UPMC Passavant Hospital, Pittsburgh, after a brief illness. She was 74.
She was born in Sharon September 5, 1941 the daughter of Oliver and Alberta McGilvary Ehrhart.
She was a lifelong area resident and graduated from Sharon High School.
A homemaker, she worked for several Hermitage restaurants over the years including the former Burp, the Hermitage House Buffet, and Wendy's.
She loved to read, cook, and a good game of cards and belonged to several card clubs.
A loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, she found her greatest joy when spending time with her grandchildren and watching them grow.
She married the love of her life Benjamin Charles Vadala on October 26, 1963, he passed away on September 7, 1999.
She is survived by her children, Christine (Tom) Henrich, Port St. Lucie, Florida, Louis Vadala and his wife Heather, Appleton, WI, Anthony "Tony" Vadala and his wife Kerry, Granger, In, Michelle Carroll, Sharpsville, her grandchildren, Matt, Ashley, Carissa, Adam, Justin, Alex, Sophia, Tommy, Hunter, Isaac, Frankie, and Landon, her step grandchildren Bradley, Amy, Sean, and her step great grandchildren, Bryce and Seth Carroll, and Penny Zolnier.
Her sisters, Suzanne Emery and her husband Jim, and Mary Jane Stull, all of Sharpsville, her four brothers, Allan John Ehrhart and his wife Carol, Ledyard, CT, Dennis Ehrhart and his wife Pat, Sharon, William Ehrhart and his wife Sherry, Farrell, and Richard Ehrhart and his wife Jackie, Hermitage.
In addition to her husband she was also preceded in death by her parents, a brother Lawrence Ehrhart, and her sister Barbara Ann Anderson, her grandchildren, Geno and Bennie, and her son in law Chuck Carroll.
Calling hours: 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday (4-3-16) in the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory Inc. 1090 E. State St. Sharon.
Services: 11:00 a.m. Monday (4-4-16) in First Baptist Church of Sharpsville 185 Union Ave., Sharpsville.
Interment: Americas Cemetery, Hermitage.
