Jan was born in Sharon, PA, and graduated Sharon High in 1974. She was a graduate of Clarion State College with a BS in Education in 1978. Jan taught Fourth grade at Bowling Green, FL, Elementary school, 1978-1979. She returned to Sharon, PA, and had many jobs including a bank teller. Jan left Sharon in Nov. 1980 and moved to Miami, FL, where she got a job dispatching for the Florida Highway Patrol in Miami, Jan. 1981.

Jan then went to work at the dispatch office of FDLE, and then took a job with Miami-Dade Aviation Department Landside Operations in 1985 where she worked until she retired, June 2011.

Janice loved her family, friends and especially her life partner Brad Dietz. They have been together for 42 years yet never married.

Janice is preceeded in death by her parents, Rita and Raymond Baker, sister, Rita M. Baker (Babe), sister, Laura Baker (Hrytzay), brother, Raymond A. Baker Sr. (Rayme), and nephew, Raymond A Baker, Jr.

Jan is survived by her life partner, Brad Dietz, sister, Barbra Baker (Williams), cousins, Gloria Dailey (Necaster) of Newark, OH, and Renee Kicis (Necaster) of Hermitage, PA, nieces, Beth Avila (Williams) and Chris Williams of Miami, FL, nephew, Randall Baker of Orlando, FL, ex sister in law, Ramona Littell of Cardington, OH, 6 great-nieces, 2 great-nephews, and various extended family members.

Interment will be next to her twin sister Laura Hrtzay (Baker) in St. Rose Cemetery, Hermitage, PA.
