Janet Clarke, 89, of Hermitage passed into her Savior Jesus Christ's arms on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, in Sharon Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Clarke was born on March 13, 1935, in Franklin, PA, a daughter of the late Bert Corbett and Helen (Ruggles) Corbett Styers. Janet graduated from Corry High School and went on to become a registered nurse at Sharon General Hospital School of Nursing. She started her career as an RN with Sharon General Hospital retiring in 1993 with 37 years of service.
Her husband of 48 years, John Clarke, whom she married on June 12, 1956, passed away on August 11, 2004. The couple had 2 children, John II and Jeffery.
Janet was a member of Family Life Church, Hermitage. She was previously a member of the former Greencrest Community Park Baptist Church, Reynolds, where she was a Sunday School Teacher for over 40 years, a Vacation Bible School teacher, and a member of the choir. She was also a member of the Treasure of Missions.
Since 1995, she has been a member of the Gideon of the Men, Women's Auxiliary.
Janet is survived by two sons, John Clarke II, Hermitage, and Jeffery Clarke and his wife Mickey, of Sharon; a grandson, Daniel "DJ" Clarke; a brother, Alan Styers; a niece, Karen Hardin; a great-niece, Veronnika Hardin; many other nieces and nephews; and her companion, John Johnson, Greenville.
In addition to her parents and husband, Janet was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald Styers and Gerald Corbett; an infant sister, Betty Corbett; and a sister-in-law who she was very close to, Peg Clarke.
The family suggests memorial contributions be directed to the Gideon of Men, Women's Auxiliary, 66 Bedford Rd., West Middlesex, PA 16159.
