Jane Harriett Smith, 86, of Farrell, passed away Friday, December 25, 2020, in St. John XXIII Home, Hermitage.

Mrs. Smith was born August 27, 1934, in Greenville, a daughter of the late Thomas Michael and Mary Jane (Ebbert) Gibbons.  She was a 1952 graduate of Sharon High School.

Jane was an exceptional homemaker and prior to her marriage she was employed at the former Sharon Transformer Division of Westinghouse Electric Corporation.  For several years she was a volunteer with MCAR and served on it's board of directors.  She enjoyed playing bridge with her friends and visiting Buhl Park, especially the "Flower Garden."

Jane was a member of St. Joseph Church, Sharon. While in the nursing home, she attended daily mass there.

Her husband, Michael R. Smith, whom she married June 14, 1957 in St. Joseph Church Sharon, passed away May 30, 2014.

She is survived by a daughter, Kathleen Ann Smith, of Transfer; two sons, Michael T. Smith and his wife Iva, and Kenneth J. Smith and his wife Mary, all of Sharon; a brother, Robert E. Gibbons and his wife Patricia, of Minnesota; four grandchildren, Michael J. Smith and his wife Justine, of Columbus, Ohio, Kendra L. Smith and Austin Farrand, of Brookfield, OH, and K.J. and Casey Smith, of Sharon; and a great grandchild, Austin Michael Farrand.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Jane was preceded in death by a sister, Connie Tennant and her husband Chuck; and a brother, Thomas Gibbons and his wife Marcia.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to MCAR, 842 N. Hermitage Rd., Hermitage, PA 16148; or St. John XXIII Home, Activity Department, 2250 Shenango Valley Fwy., Hermitage, PA 16148.
