Jane P. Haney, 83, of New Castle, PA, passed away Monday evening, August 25, 2025, in The Haven Nursing Home.

Mrs. Haney was born January 26, 1942, in New Castle, a daughter of the late Adalbert W. and Stella (Dytko) Tecza. A lifelong area resident, she graduated from New Castle High School in 1960.

For many years, Jane worked as a clerk at the Seven-Eleven locations in Shenango Township and on Highland Road, and also worked as a guard for G4S. Above all else, she was a devoted mother and grandmother who adored her family.

Jane was of the Catholic faith.

She enjoyed playing BINGO and the lottery, especially scratch-off tickets. In more recent years, Jane enjoyed playing games on her mobile tablet. She was an exceptional cook and loved preparing meals for family and friends during the holidays, particularly Christmas.

Jane is survived by three children, Lauri Ellis (Robert), Brian Haney, and Steven Haney, all of New Castle; and two grandchildren, Sascha Ellis and Kaitlyn Marie.

In addition to her parents, Jane was preceded in death by her brother, Albert Tecza.

Visitation will be held from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday (8-28-25) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 111 W. Falls St., New Castle.

A memorial service will immediately follow at 1 p.m. in the funeral home.
