James F. Yannesse, Sr. of Sharon passed away peacefully at
12:35 p.m.
Friday, November 20, 2015, in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System after a brief illness.
He was 98.
Mr. Yannesse was born September 3, 1917, in Farrell, a son of Vincent and Louise Yannesse.
He attended Sharon schools and served with the Army during WW II.
Jim retired in 1980 as a coil winder from the former Sharon Transformer Division of Westinghouse Electric Corp. where he was employed for 43 years.
He was a member of Church of the Sacred Heart and the North Sharon Fire Hall, both Sharon.
His wife, the former Lottie Gladsyz, whom he married November 13, 1943, passed away October 30, 1983.
Surviving are: a son, Richard P. Yannesse and his wife Doris, Hermitage; two grandchildren, Steven Yannesse and his wife Bridget, Edinburg, Lawrence County, PA; and Lisa Sowers and her husband Mike, Champion, Ohio; and two great grandchildren, Kara Yannesse and Kayla Sowers.
He also leaves two sisters, Beatrice Moran, Howland, Ohio; and Janet Mirto, Brooksville, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his wife, Mr. Yannesse was preceded in death by his parents; a son, James F. Yannesse, Jr.; two brothers, Peter Yannesse and Thomas DeMarco; and two sisters, Carmella DeMarco and Helen Buckley.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
