James Francis Williams II, Mercer, passed away peacefully at his home at 8:15 a.m. on Thursday, January 5, 2012. He was 74.

He was the biggest and the loudest fan for his three boys during their youth, high school, and collegiate athletic careers. In recent years, Jim carried the same enthusiasm and dedication in watching his seven grandchildren participate in their athletics events in Mercer County as well as in the eastern portion of the state.
Jim loved sports, dancing, watching his Steelers, bluegrass music, fishing, playing the lottery, and gambling trips with his wife and friends. In June, his three sons and their wives sponsored a gambling trip to Salamanca, New York to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. More than 60 family members and friends were in attendance.
