James A. Walker, Sr., 86, formerly a longtime resident of Sharon, passed away Saturday afternoon, March 1, 2025, at his home in Hubbard, OH.

Mr. Walker was born April 16, 1938, in Sharon, a son of the late Edward and Jeanette (Brown) Walker, and graduated from Sharon High School in 1958.

For 36 years, James worked in many capacities at General Motors Co. Lordstown Plant, retiring as a forklift operator.

Jim was a member of Chestnut Ridge Church of God in Hubbard, OH, where he served as an usher, helped prepare Communion on a monthly basis, cut the grass of the church grounds, and assisted in cleaning and general maintenance.

A passionate Cleveland sports fan, he loved the Indians and the Browns. Jim took great pride in his immaculately kept yard, enjoyed playing bingo, and looked forward to Sharon High Basketball games. An avid camper, Jim loved bringing his family together every weekend in the summer months at Skyview Campgrounds in Mercer, where he made many dear friends.

His beloved wife of 61 years, Charlotte J. (Williams) Walker, whom he married December 14, 1963, survives at home.

Jim is also survived by three daughters, Kimberly Burgan, Kennesaw, GA, Vicki Callahan (Rick), Severna Park, MD, and Cathy Kamovitch (Richie), Sharpsville, PA; a son, James A. Walker, Jr. (Debbie), Hubbard, OH; a sister, Florence Paddock, Franklin, PA; nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren with another on the way; and one great-great-grandson.

In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Walker; a sister, Ruth Ann Yale, a brother-in-law, Dennis Yale; and his two beloved Yorkies, Molly Brown and Abby Ann.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to a charity of the donor's choice and would like to thank the staff of Elmwood Assisted Living for their exceptional care and support.
