James W. Neely, 54, of New Castle passed away peacefully at 12:28 p.m. Friday, Sept. 18, 2015, in Allegheny General Hospital after a brief illness. He was 54. Mr. Neely was born Jan. 7, 1961, in New Castle, a son of James and Virginia (Moffatt) Neely. He was a 1980 graduate of Shenango High School and the New Castle School of Trades. He attended Youngstown State University. Jim was co-owner of Neely Brothers Plumbing, New Castle, for the past 20 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding his Gold Wing motorcycle and spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of the Shenango China Hunting and Fishing Club. Surviving are his children, James Neely of Bradshaw, Neb., Matthew Neely and his girlfriend, Shannon, of Shenango Township, and Jessica Chappell and her fiance, Bryan Hobel, of Bessemer; two grandsons, James J. Neely of Nebraska and Bryan Keith Hobel of Bessemer; a brother (and business partner), Thomas Neely and his wife, Cindy, of Shenango Township; three sisters, Kathy Stencil and her husband, David, Kelly Feckley and her husband, Dale, and Michelle Neely and her fiance, Tom, all of Cleveland; a niece, Chonda Neely; and a nephew, Thomas Neely. Jim was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Virginia and Larry Adams, and his father and stepmother, James and Lois Neely. In keeping with Jim's wishes, there are no calling hours. A celebration of Jim's life for family and friends will take place on Saturday in the Ranch Bar, Route 65, near Ellwood City, from noon until 4 p.m. The family asks that those attending to please bring a dish.
