James T. Shaw, Sr., 65 of New Castle, passed away on Monday, August 8, 2011.

Born on June 2, 1946 in Dubois, PA, He was the second son of John L. Shaw Jr. and Mary Claire Kelly-Shaw.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, David L. Shaw.

He is survived by his loving wife the former Mary Fernada Sandora-Shaw. Additional survivors include his two children and their families; his first born, Erin Marie Shaw-Tiboni and her husband Kevin Tiboni along with their children Maura Claire and Colin Frederick; and his second child, James T. Shaw, Jr. and his wife Lindsay Cinque-Shaw. Mr. Shaw is also survived by a brother John L. Shaw, III and his wife Yvonne Lee McCracken-Shaw. Other survivors include Mr. Shaw's brothers-in Law and their wives and children, Joseph and Patty Doone- Sandora with their son Joseph P. Sandora; and George and Kathy Daugherty-Sandora and their sons Patrick and Andrew Sandora. Mr. Shaw was a Crypto-Logical equipment operator during his time in the U. S. Navy from 1966 to 1970.

His civilian professional career included work in the retail, finance, and telecommunications industries.

Mr. Shaw was a long time member of Mary, Mother of Hope Parish and its predecessor, St. Mary's Parish. He was a 1964 graduate of New Castle high School. Mr. Shaw went on to celebrate his mid-life crisis by earning his Bachelor's Degree, at age 45, from Westminster College.

Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 5 to 8 pm at the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 111 W. Falls St.

A private funeral Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Mary's church by the Rev. Victor J. Molka Jr., Pastor. Burial will follow in St. Lucy Cemetery.
