James "Jimmy" Palo of Sharpsville passed away at 6:50 a.m. Thursday, October 13, 2016, in Nugent Convalescent Home, Hermitage. He was 88.
Mr. Palo was born March 7, 1928, in Sharpsville, a son of Socci Pagliaroli and Beatrice (Perfilio) Palo.
A lifelong resident of Sharpsville, Jimmy was a 1948 graduate of Sharpsville High School. Following high school he was employed by the Erie Railroad and later Sharon Steel in the maintenance department until his retirement.
Jimmy was a member of St. Bartholomew Church, Sharpsville. He was also a member of the Italian Home Club, Farrell.
He enjoyed cats, and helping his siblings, especially his brother Tony at his flower shop. A gardener, he looked forward to sharing his produce with his family members.
Surviving are: a sister, Katherine Masi, Ft. Lauderdale, FL; a brother, Anthony "Tony" Palo, Sharpsville; nine nieces and nephews; and several great nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by three sisters, Ann Davis; Mary Myers; and Nancy Zachik; and three infant siblings, Dominic, Vincent and Nancy Palo.
The family suggest memorial contributions be made to St. Bartholomew Church, 311 W. Ridge Ave., Sharpsville, PA 16150.
Calling hour will be from 12:00 to 1 p.m. Saturday, October 15, 2016, in St. Bartholomew Church, Sharpsville.
Funeral Mass will be 1 p.m. Saturday, in St. Bartholomew Church, with Rev. Matthew Strickenberger, pastor, as celebrant.
Entombment: St. Rose Cemetery, Hermitage.
