James Frederick Munnal of 561 Dutch Ln., Hermitage, PA. passed away at 9:32 a.m. Friday, March 20, 2009 at Sharon Regional Health System. He was 56.
Mr. Munnal was born in Sharon, PA on May 5, 1952, a son of James and Phyllis VanHorn Munnal.
James attended West Middlesex High School.
He served in the United States Marine Corp during Vietnam from Oct. 7, 1969 to July 18, 1973.
Mr. Munnal was employed as a truck driver at Steel Trucking in Wheatland until 1991.
James was a member of the Presbyterian Church of West Middlesex. He enjoyed working with his computer, and helping friends and family with their computer.
Survivors include: his wife Luann Meckler Munnal, whom he married July 21, 1979; his mother and step father, Phyllis and her husband John Gearhart of West Middlesex; a daughter, Kimberly Ann and her husband Kenneth Coon Jr. of Sharpsville; a son, Robert Munnal of Sharon, PA; 3 sisters, Judy and her husband Doug Slater of Pulaski, Jackie and her husband Tommy Creighton of New Middletown, and Joy and her husband Keith McCright of Pulaski; a brother Jay and his wife Diane Gearhart of Marionville, PA; a granddaughter, Renee Alexia Munnal; 5 nieces and 4 nephews.
He was preceded in death by: his father; maternal and paternal grandparents.
Calling hours will be from 4 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 1090 E. State St. Sharon, PA 16146
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Jason Hickman pastor of the Presbyterian Church of West Middlesex.
