Obituary

James Paul "JP" Morgan, of Jamestown, passed away peacefully Thursday afternoon, November 7, 2024, in UPMC Greenville Hospital.

Mr. Morgan was born June 11, 1941, in Sharon, a son of the James Patrick and Elizabeth Catherine (Fitzgerald) Morgan. Due to his father's untimely death prior to his birth, JP will now meet him for the first time in the presence of Our Lord. He was a graduate of Jamestown High School, attended Thiel College, and served in the U.S. Navy.

For many years, JP worked as a conductor on the railroad, primarily for Conrail.

He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, Greenville, and former member of the Jamestown Lions Club.

A dedicated family man, he also loved animals, especially his dog, Jazz, and cats, Sammi and Garfield. JP looked forward to lunches with his railroad buddies, working in his garage, and riding his tractor. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan, especially while they were winning.

His beloved wife and soul mate, Virginia "Ginie" (Santiago) Morgan, whom he married on September 30, 1995, survives at home in Jamestown.

JP is also survived by two sons, James Morgan (Diane), and Scott Morgan, all of Greenville; five grandchildren, Jason Morgan (Bree), Garrett Morgan (Chasey), Dylan Morgan, Jeremy Rodgers (Kara), and Codie Campbell (Bob); six great-grandchildren; and many cousins.

In addition to his parents, JP was preceded in death by his son, Sean Morgan.

The family suggests memorial contributions be directed to St. Michael Parish, 85 N. High St., Greenville, PA 16125.
