James "Jimmy" Falconi, 65, of Farrell, passed away after a courageous battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) on Friday, October 25, 2024, in UPMC Jameson Care Center, New Castle.
Jimmy was born on June 23, 1959, in Sharon, a son of the late Anthony J. and Lucille (Pellis) Falconi, Sr. A lifelong area resident, he was a 1977 graduate of Farrell High School. A standout athlete, known for his speed, he excelled on the football team as well as track and field. As an adult, Jimmy gave back to Farrell's football program, serving 17 seasons as the head coach of the freshman team and an assistant coach for the varsity team.
He was employed for more than ten years at Wheatland Tube, Warren, OH, and worked more than 35 years alongside his family at Falconi Brothers Painting.
Jimmy was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Church, Farrell.
He loved being outdoors and had a special place in his heart for Pymatuning Lake. Jimmy looked forward to visiting the lake for picnics, fishing and most of all going to the spillway and fish hatchery. He also enjoyed his pet rabbits and gardening.
Jimmy was an "old soul" and cherished his Italian background. He loved Italian food and old Italian music, especially the artist Jerry Vale and Perry Como. He was also an avid fan of the Los Angeles Rams.
He is survived by six siblings, Louis Falconi and his wife Patricia, Farrell, John Falconi and his wife Lesa, Thomas Falconi and his wife Kathy, Janet Petricini and her husband Anthony, all of Sharpsville, Rosemary Long, Mercer, and Gina Ellison and her husband Matthew, Sharpsville; 16 nieces and nephews; 11 great-nieces and nephews; and his special friends, Amanda, Addie and Alexander.
In addition to his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by a brother, Anthony Falconi, Jr.; and a brother-in-law, James Long.
