James L. Campbell, IV, 49, of Lakewood OH passed away unexpectedly Friday, February 4, 2022 in his residence.
He was born August 11, 1972, on base of the Naval Air Station Patuxent River, MD, a son of James L. Campbell, III and Margaret (Hoffman) Campbell. He was a 1990 graduate of Reynolds High School and also attended Kent State University.
In 1993, James decided to follow in his father's footsteps by joining the Navy. James achieved the rank of radioman 3 rd class, later becoming a plank owner while serving aboard the Aircraft Carrier U.S.S. Harry S. Truman. He was an auxiliary member of VFW Post 6404, Sharpsville.

At the age of 40, James realized a passion for running and participated in many marathons. He especially looked forward to traveling with friends and family to run the annual Marine Corps Marathon, which he once completed after breaking his leg at mile marker two.
He enjoyed boating and sailing, especially at the family cottage on Lake Erie in North Kingsville, OH. James had a wonderful quick-witted sense of humor, and had a gift for making others laugh.
