Obituary

Jackie D. "Jack" Eli, 80, of Hermitage, passed away on Friday, January 26, 2024, in his home.

Mr. Eli was born on February 15, 1943, in Hopkinsville, KY, a son of the late Tom and Hazel (Morgan) Eli. He attended school in Kentucky until he was drafted into the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.

Following his honorable service, he returned home and began driving truck for his uncle. Jack had a long driving career and was an honorable member of the Teamsters. He ultimately retired from Yellow Trucking.

He proud veteran, he was a former member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 6233, west Middlesex.

Jack was an avid reader and history buff, especially the Civil War Era. He was also a skilled hobby mechanic and farmer. He took great pride in his beef cattle.

He is survived by his wife, the former Vivian Mirowsky, whom he married on July 3, 1995; three daughters, Jocelin Dawn Muto (Roc), Pittsburgh, Kristin Cox (Bill), Bethany, WV, and Karin Sanders, Hubbard, OH; six grandchildren, Luca, Ryker, Colin, Melody, Alex, Amanda and Abby; and two great-grandchildren, Isabelle and Carmen. Also surviving is a brother, Robert Eli (Marilyn), Henderson, KY; and a sister-in-law, Alice Eli, Hopkinsville, KY.

In addition to his parents, Eli was preceded in death by a son, Andrew R. Toth; two sisters, Dorothy Jane "Dotty" Eli and infant Josephine Eli; and a brother, Ray Eli.
