Jack C. DePizzo of Hermitage passed away at 3:23 a.m. Monday, August 29, 2016 in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System. He was 64.
Mr. Depizzo was born May 1, 1952, in Youngstown, OH; a son of Jack and Mary Knapp DePizzo. He was raised in Youngstown and graduated from Ursuline High School in 1970.
He was employed by Wheatland Tube for 25 years and retired in 2002.
Jack was a member of the Church of Notre Dame, Hermitage.
He was a member of the Italian Home Club, Farrell.
In recent years he enjoyed hunting and being outdoors. An avid sports fan, Jack loved watching the Cleveland Browns and Ohio State University football games on television. He was a devout family man. Known as "Papa" by his two grandchildren, Jack cherished the time he was able to spend with them.
He is survived by: his wife of 35 years, the former Denise Christello, whom he married October 25, 1980; a daughter, Nicole (Andres) Lopez, New Wilmington, PA; three brothers, Rocco "Rocky" DePizzo, Cortland, OH; Carl (Gladys) DePizzo; and Nicholas DePizzo, all of Youngstown, OH; and two grandchildren, Maura and Dominic Lopez. Also surviving are his mother-in-law, Charlotte Christello, a brother-in-law, Frank (Amy) Christello, and several nieces and nephews.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Michael DePizzo.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 2 Chatham Center, Suite 1520, 112 Washington Place, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, 15219.
The family would like express their gratitude to the nurses of the CVU at Sharon Regional Hospital for the exceptional care they gave to Jack.
Calling hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday (8-31-16) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 E. State St., Sharon.
Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Thursday (9-1-16) in the Church of Notre Dame, Hermitage; with Rev. Jeffery Noble, pastor, as celebrant.
Interment: St. Rose Cemetery, Hermitage.
