Private services will be held for Iris Marie Archer, Bentley House, Hermitage, formerly of Masury, Ohio, who passed away at 9:40 a.m. Friday (12-16-11) in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System. She was 82.

She was born December 30, 1928 in Sharon, Pa., to Robert and Ruth Barker Jamieson.

She loved to travel with her husband and she also enjoyed sewing, painting, refinishing furniture, antiquing, reading, and all types of puzzles.

She also loved feeding the wild birds and working with her flowers, and taking walks at Buhl Park.

She was an animal lover and she cherished her cat Pizzazz who she had for nineteen years. She was a member of the Daughter's of Union Veterans of the Civil War.

Her husband John A. Archer whom she married on June 21, 1947, passed away on February 13, 1998 after fifty years of marriage.

She is survived by her children Donna Marie Lee and her husband Gary, Maui Hawaii, Daniel John Archer and his wife Sandra, Hubbard, OH, and Bonita Eileen Meszaros and her husband Sonny, Jamestown, Pa. She dearly loved her five grandchildren, Jessica Gleason and her husband Matt, Angelo and Adam Lee, Melanie and Casey Archer.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Les and Bill Jamieson, and her sisters Edith Page and Elmo Foust.

Her family suggests that anyone wishing to make a Memorial contribution in her memory to do so to the charity of their choice.

Calling hours and services: In keeping with her wishes there will be no calling hours and private services for her immediate family are being scheduled by the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory Inc. 1090 E. State St. Sharon.
