Irene E. Kovac, of St. John XXIII Home, Hermitage, formerly of Sharon, passed away peacefully of natural causes at 10:24 a.m. Saturday (9-19-15) in the home. She was 95. Irene was born in Pittsburgh the only child of George Henry and Irene Kathryn Heinz Brown. She was raised in the Edgewood area of Pittsburgh and graduated from Edgewood High School. She was of the Catholic faith. She was member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and she was a veracious reader who enjoyed the fine arts. Irene leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Joanne E. Greer, Springfield Massachusetts, and a son Joseph Kovac and his wife Bernadette, Sharon, 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Her husband Joseph Andrew Kovac whom she married October 12, 1944, passed away on January 10th, 1973.
