Irene Bell Hudson, of Clepper Manor, formerly of Shady Ave. Hermitage passed away at 6:35 a.m. Saturday, April 7, 2012, in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System. She was 70.

Irene was born August 3, 1941 in Sharon a daughter of Francis L. and Dorothy L. Clark Cooper.

She was a lifelong area resident and a 1959 alumna of Hickory High School.

Irene was employed at the Verland Foundation where she worked as part of the direct care staff until 2007.

She was an active member of Shenango Valley Baptist Church. Irene also was an avid Elvis fan, enjoyed playing word search puzzles and the companionship of the family Saint Bernards. Most importantly she enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Surviving are: two daughters, Sharon L. and her husband Randy E. Sackett of Hermitage and Brenda Fair of Hermitage; a sister, Jean Wilkinson of Hermitage; a brother, Rev. Phillip and his wife Sandy Cooper of Hermitage; 5 grandchildren, Spc. Jeffrey and his wife Kellie Hudson, Annamarie Sackett, Christa Fair, Corinne and her husband Christian Allen, Jeremy Sackett; 2 great grandchildren, Illyssa Martin and Clarissa Martin. Irene was looking forward to becoming at great grandmother for the third time this August.

In addition to her parents, Irene was preceded in death by a nephew, William 'Billy' Wilkinson and a brother-in-law William Wilkinson.

Calling hours will be on Tuesday, April 10, 2012 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 1090 E. State St. Sharon, PA 16146.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the Shenango Valley Baptist Church 40 S. Neshannock Rd. Hermitage, PA 16148 with Rev. Phillip Cooper. There will also be calling hours one hour prior to the service in Church.
