Hugh "Pete" Hall, 92, of New Castle, formerly of East Harbor Rd., and England, passed away Monday afternoon, December 23, 2024, in UPMC Jameson Hospital.
Mr. Hall was born April 8, 1932, in New Castle, a son of the late Perry and Dorothy (Burr) Hall, and was a 1949 graduate of Union Area High School.
A proud veteran, Pete served as a gunnery sergeant in the Army and Air Force for over 40 years, earning several honors and accommodations for his service.
Pete later worked as an electrician at Rockwell International Corp., New Castle.
He was a member of Hoover Heights Church, New Castle.
Pete was a 32nd Degree Free and Accepted Mason and member of the Mahoning New Castle Lodge 243, and also a member of the American Legion Post 343, both of New Castle.
He loved playing Bingo, collecting guns, and spending time with his family, especially during the holidays.
Pete is survived by his wife, Diane (Booh) Hall, whom he married October 17, 2015; two sons, Adrian Hall (Gemma), North Hampton, England, and Brian Hall (Lynn), New Castle; a daughter, Sarah Hadwin (Noel), North Hampton, England; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Pete was preceded in death by his first wife, Jean (Harrier) Hall, whom he married September 30, 1972, and passed away February 17, 2015; five brothers, Edward, Buch, Joe, Alfred, and Stanley Hall; and a sister, Kay Irvin.
A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
