IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Howard J.
Ferringer
May 23, 1954 – December 6, 2023
Howard J. Ferringer, 69, of Hermitage, passed away Wednesday morning, December 6, 2023, in Warren, OH, surrounded by family.
Mr. Ferringer was born on May 23, 1954, in Sharon, a son of the late Howard and Norma (Hoyney) Ferringer. He was a 1972 graduate of Hubbard High School and studied electronics at ATTES Technical School.
He began his career at the 7-Up Bottling Company, Youngstown, OH, where he later became the operations manager. Howard was a lifelong learner, a man of many hobbies, and a collector of many things, from Pittsburgh sports memorabilia, and trading cards to coins and firearms. His interests would become his passions. It was the interest in the latter that morphed from a part-time job to a very successful career as the president and CEO of Class Three Supply Inc., better known by its retail front, Elite Firearms, Hermitage. Where for over 15 years he made great friends with his many customers and greeted passersby on Route 18 with his pithy thoughts on the topic du jour.
Howard was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Sharon, and Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Hermitage.
He took much pride in his children and their success. During their youth, Howie enjoyed coaching them and was a dedicated member in the church. He liked to cook and using family recipes brought him much joy. Almost as much delight as hitting a scratcher lottery ticket. Like his mother, he enjoyed flea markets and a good bargain. Additionally, he greatly enjoyed the company of his dear pets. Maddie, his most recent dog, held a very special place in his heart. She was his "little buddy" and traveled everywhere with him.
He is survived by two daughters, Lauren Ferringer, Hermitage, and Leah Rohrbacher and her husband, Spencer, Stafford, VA; a son, Christopher Ferringer and his wife, Heather, Hermitage; five grandchildren, Eve, Lena and Ellora Rohrbacher, and Natalia and Colt Ferringer; and a brother, Jeff Ferringer and his wife Dawn, Leesburg, FL.
In addition to his parents, Howard was preceded in death by his beloved grandparents, Joseph and Jennie Hoyney.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, (12-14-23) at Oakwood Cemetery, 600 N. Oakland Ave., Hermitage, with Rev. Dennis Blauser, officiating. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.McGonigleFuneralHomeandCrematory.com
