Helene F. "Helen" (Dobert) Canady, 87, of Greenville, passed away at 11:10 p.m. Sunday, October 27, 2024, in UPMC Horizon Hospital, Greenville.
Mrs. Canady was born on December 1, 1936, in Frankfurt, Germany, and at the age of 18, moved to the United States.
Her husband Carl Canady, whom she married on April 29, 1955, passed away on April 16. 2016.
Helen was employed by the Sharon Herald newspaper and retired as a janitor at Reynold School District.
An avid "cruiser," she loved to travel and has been on 28 cruise ships. Helen also enjoyed cheering on the Cleveland Guardians, going out to eat and shopping especially at her favorite store T.J. Maxx. Above all, she cherished time spent with her family.
She is survived by two daughters, Diana Cole, and Rebecca Riley (Doug), all of Greenville; two sons, Ronald Canady, Harrisburg, PA, and Mike Canady (Tina), Sharpsville; a daughter-in-law, Amy Canady, Greenville; three grandchildren, Reid Canady (Sarah), Michelle Homyk (Michael), and Katie Riley; and seven great-grandchildren, Isabella, Nic, Sophia, Cody, Ava, Aiden and Addie.
Helen's son, Robert Canady, passed away less than five hours after her.
