Helen Vargo

Helen J. Vargo, 91, of Masury, OH, passed away on Friday morning, October 2, 2026, in Windsor House at O’Brien Memorial, Masury.

Ms. Vargo was born on March 19, 1935, in Sharon, the daughter of the late Paul and Kathleen (Stuhar) Vargo. She was a 1953 graduate of Brookfield High School.

She worked for over 30 years at the former Shenango Steel, Sharpsville in the accounting department. Upon the closure of Shenango Steel, she then went to work at Olsher Company in Brookfield, retiring when the plant closed 15 years later.

Helen was a member of the Masury United Methodist Church.

She is survived by a sister, Kathy Hunt and her husband, Fred, of Gautier, MS; two nephews, Paul Vargo, of Brookfield, OH, and Brian Hunt and his wife, Beth, of Gautier.

In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by a brother, Paul H. Vargo.

The family suggests memorial contributions be directed to a charity of the donor’s choice.

In keeping with Helen’s wishes, there are no services.

Interment: Oakwood Cemetery, Hermitage.
