Helen R. Parris of Madison, MS formerly of 801 Highland Rd. Sharon, PA passed away at 4:55 p.m. Saturday, July 3, 2010 in The Orchard Retirement Community, Ridgeland, MS. She was 93.
Mrs. Parris was born in Youngstown, OH on February 24, 1917, the daughter of Walter A. and Esther E. Eckis Roberts. She graduated from Youngstown College after earning a two year business degree.
Helen was a homemaker most of her life. She was a member of Central Christian Church in Hubbard, OH, American Legion Women's Auxiliary Post 737 in Lake Milton, OH, Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 242 in Sharon, PA, and a member of the Red Hat Society in Mississippi. Most importantly she was a loving wife and mother.
Her husband, Thomas W. Parris, to whom she was married for 60 years, passed away on October 23, 2000.
Survivors include a son, Roger A. and his wife Lisa F. Parris of Canton, MS.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Calling hours will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, July 9, 2010 in the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 1090 E. State St. Sharon, PA 16146
A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 9, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home with Rev. Lou Raymond.
Internment will be in Eckis Cemetery.
