Obituary

Helen M. Marmion, The Fountains on the Greens, 1575 Brainard Road Lyndhurst, OH, formerly of Putman Drive, Sharon, passed away peacefully of natural causes at 2:30 a.m. Friday (4-8-11) in Hillcrest Hospital, Mayfield Heights, Ohio. She was 93.

She was born on July 10, 1917 in Oil City Pennsylvania the daughter of Walter Craig and Gladys Mae Stover McNutt.

She was raised in Sharon and was a member of Sharon High Schools graduating class of 1936. She also graduated from the former Shenango Valley Commercial Institute in Sharon.

In her early years, Helen worked at the M. Fitzpatrick Co. Store, and at the former Wengler's Jewelers, 'Sharon's Reliable Jeweler' where she was head of sales.

A homemaker, she was a member of St. Joseph's Church, Sharon. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who loved her family. She also enjoyed playing cards and was a Master bridge player.

Her husband Peter J. Marmion who she married on September 9, 1939, passed away on February 27, 1988.

She leaves a daughter, Susan M. Nottingham and her husband John R. , Bratenahl, OH; two sons, Robert A. Marmion and his wife Rosemarie, Deptford, NJ, and Daniel J. Marmion and his wife Donna, Sharon; a brother William H. McNutt, Hermitage; 7 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sons William and John 'Jack' Marmion, a grandson Nathaniel Marmion, and two brothers, W. Scott McNutt and Jack McNutt.

Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Joseph's Church, 79 Case Ave., Sharon.

Calling hours: 6 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday (4-13-11) in the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory Inc. 1090 E. State St. Sharon.

Services: Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday (4-13-11) in St. Mary's Cemetery Chapel with the Rev. Glenn R. Whitman, pastor of St. Joseph's Church as the celebrant.

Interment: St. Mary's Cemetery, Hermitage.
