Obituary

Helen Lang a life long resident of Hermitage, passed away at 7:40 PM Sunday (12/7/2008) at White Cliff Nursing Home in Hempfield Twp., PA. She was 92.
Mrs. Lang was born in Youngstown, OH on July 14, 1916, a daughter of Stanley and Maria Valnage Stanwick.
She attended Chaney High School.
Mrs. Lang was involved in various missionary works. She helped smuggle bibles into Red China at the age of 70, she also did missionary work in Hong Kong, the Philippines, Israel, Mexico, and the Bahamas. Helen also supported her daughter Dana in her missionary work.
Helen was a homemaker, but earlier in her life she was a playground teacher at Millcreek Park, and X-Rayed bombs at the Ravenna Arsenal during World War II.
She loved the Lord God, and followed him all the days of her life. She was a valiant and generous woman, with a quick sense of humor. Helen was loyal and faithful to all that she loved, and she loved all. At the end of her days; she was calm and looking forward to the riches of spending eternity with her Lord and Savior.
Helen loved sports, nature, and wherever she went, she always told those she encountered about the Love of God.
Her husband, Joseph C. Lang, whom she married May 1, 1943, passed away Oct. 18, 2005. Joseph owned Lang Concrete Products for over 50 years.
Survivors include: 3 daughters, Dana Lang of Mercer, PA, Suzanne Lang of Hermitage, PA, and Pam Dutro of Sharon, PA.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; a grandson, Micah Sierra; a brother, Samuel Stanovic; 3 sisters, Dorothy McGlaughin, Evelyn Deeser, and Lucille Stanwick.
Funeral services will be held at 7:00 PM Thursday (12/11/08) at the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 1090 E. State St. Sharon. Calling hours will be from 5 to 7 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mt. Washington Cemetery.
