Helen A. Horvath, formerly of Transfer, passed away at 3:10 p.m. Sunday, January 28, 2018, in Juniper Village, Sharon. She was 99.
Mrs. Horvath was born September 2, 1918, in Farrell, a daughter of John and Ann (Blazevich) Andrukowicz.
She was a lifelong area resident and 1937 graduate of Farrell High School.
Helen retired from the former Sharon Transformer Div. of Westinghouse Electric Corp. where she worked for over 35 years. During her time at Westinghouse, Helen received numerous recognitions of service for her innovative ideas that were implemented in the day-to-day operations of the company.
She was a member of the former Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, Sharon.
She loved feeding birds, which would actually come and sit on her hand while being fed.
Her husband, Joseph S. Horvath, Jr., whom she married April 22, 1939, passed away January 17, 1990.
Surviving are: her niece and caregiver, Jane Rodondi and her husband Andrew, Sharpsville; another niece, Alberta Osier and her husband Mike, Grimbsy, Ontario; a God child, Duane DeBastiani and his wife Beth, Moon Twp.; and many great nieces and great nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Helen was preceded in death by four sisters, Anna (Arthur) Anderson, Mildred (William) Kasiara, Veronica (Anthony) Yaksic and Wanda (Eugene) Smith; and two brothers, Stanley (Marie) Andrews and Joseph (Mary) Andrews.

In keeping with her wishes, there will be no calling hours.
A Memorial Mass will be held at a later date.
Interment: Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Cemetery, Hermitage.
