Helen Giancarlo, 80, of Warren, Ohio, died peacefully in Saint Joseph's Hospital, Warren, Ohio, January 2, 2017, after battling a sudden illness. Helen was born to the late Alex Kobiloinski and the former Anna Grib Kobiloinskion June 23, 1936.
Helen and her brother Joseph grew up in Fredericktown, Pennsylvania near the Monongahela River. She graduated from Bethlehem Joint High School in 1954 and soon after settled in Ohio.
Although Helen worked at various occupations, she was primarily a loving homemaker who raised two young boys as a single mother.
Helen was known for her big heart, her passion for cooking and her quick sense of humor.
She decorated her house with beautiful crystal perfume bottles, unique objects and antique glassware. She loved her home and her cat Whitey and delighted in visiting with friends and relatives.
Helen was predeceased by her beloved husband of many years, Dominic Giancarlo; her brother Joseph; and her cat Whitey.
She is survived by two son, William and his wife Debra; and Robert; a grandson William; and a great-granddaughter, Maddison.
Helen also leaves behind numerous loving relatives and friends.
Calling hours will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, January 8, 2017, in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 E. State St., Sharon.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, 2017, in the funeral home, with Rev. Joseph Campbell, officiating.
Interment: St. Anthony Cemetery, Hermitage.
