Helen Cooper Fortune, Montclair, CA, formerly of Sharon, passed away of natural causes at 4:00 a.m. Wednesday (10-14-15) in Montclair. She was 93. Helen was born in Sharon, October 23, 1921 the daughter of Leo and Sarah "Sadie" Spiegel Knapp. She was a graduate of Sharon High School and studied at the F.X. Peters School of Business, Youngstown, Ohio. Helen worked as an auditor for the State of California at the Laterman State Hospital, Pomona, CA. She previously worked as a case worker for the Mercer County Board of Assistance as a food stamp specialist. She was a former member of St. Joseph's Church, Sharon. Mrs. Fotune was member of the Traveler's Aid Society. Her first husband Kevin Edward Cooper who she married in 1946, passed away July 17, 2004. Her second husband Mark Emery Fortune whom she married October 27, 1976, passed away in December of 1978. She is survived by her daughter, Linda A. Beebe and her husband Bruce, Fontana, CA, her son, Randy K. Cooper, Canyon Lake, CA, a sister, Mary Rita Matias, Pittsburgh, Pa., and a brother, Dale Knapp Laguna Woods, CA, two grandchildren, Sean D. Foder, Lake Stevens, WA, Jeremy E. Fodor, Ontario, CA, and her 6 great grandchildren, Nigel, Mateo and Urijah Fodor, Lake Stevens, WA, and Tori, Megan & Jeremy Jr. Fodor of Ontario, CA. In addition to her two husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Sadie Knapp, her two sisters, Ethel Knapp and Leona Rissell. Services: Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Thursday (10-22-15) in St. Rose Cemetery Chapel with Msgr. Salvatore P. Mitchell, as celebrant.
