Helen S. Fiscus, S. Pymatuning Township, passed away at 8:25 a.m. Sunday (10-3-10) in Edinboro Manor. She was 88.
Mrs. Fiscus was born May 27, 1922 in Glen Jean, West Virginia a daughter of the late Adolph and Katherine Alaszczyk Syslo.
Moving to the Shenango Valley as a young girl, she attended Sharon schools and was a 1940 alumna of Farrell High School.
Prior to her marriage, Helen worked at Ideal Dry Cleaners in Farrell, the former Sharon Transformer Division of the Westinghouse Electric Corporation for a short period and Packard Electric Corporation.
She was a homemaker and a member of Church of the Sacred Heart, Sharon. Helen enjoyed gardening and working outdoors, however, her greatest joy in life was raising her three sons.
Her husband, Francis W. Fiscus, whom she married September 27, 1958, passed away January 29, 1997.
Surviving are: two sons, David F. Fiscus, Union City, PA; and Michael W. Fiscus, Laurel, MD; two granddaughters, Elizabeth and Emily Fiscus; and several nieces and nephews throughout the United States.
Besides her parents and husband, Helen was preceded in death by a son, Daniel W. Fiscus; a daughter-in-law, Robin (Anderson) Fiscus; three sisters, Anna Bishop, Agnes Leroux and Frances Syslo who died in infancy; and eight brothers, Adolph, Rudolf, Ludwig, Wilhelm, Raymond, Edward, Henry and Arthur Syslo.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday (10-6-10) in St. Rose Cemetery Chapel, Dutch Lane, Hermitage, with the Rev. John S. Lynch as celebrant.
Interment: St. Rose Cemetery, Hermitage.
