Obituary

Helen M. Donadio formerly of Spencer Ave., Sharon, passed away at 8:12 p.m. Sunday, August 16, 2015, in Clepper Manor, Sharon, after an extended illness. She was 92. Mrs. Donadio was born August 15, 1923 in Sharon, a daughter of Guy and Elvira "Vera" (Remigio) Mastroianni. She was a lifelong area resident and a 1942 alumna of Sharon High School. Years earlier, she was employed at the former Sharon Store in downtown Sharon for ten years and previously worked at the former Sharon Transformer Division of Westinghouse Electric Corporation for three years. A homemaker, Helen was an active member of St. Joseph Church, Sharon. Her husband of 65 years, Louis F. Donadio, whom she married April 24, 1944, passed away June 4, 2009. Surviving are: a son, Robert L. "Bob" Donadio and his wife Patricia, New Castle; and a grandson, Ross Donadio, New York, NY. She also leaves a niece, Diane DuMaire, Vermont; and two nephews, David Hazi, Sharpsville; and Jerry Hazi, North Carolina. Besides her husband, Helen was preceded in death by her parents a brother, Patrick Mastroianni; and a sister, Mary DeMaio. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Vitus Parochial Grade School, 915 S. Jefferson St., New Castle, PA 16101. Calling hours will be from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Thursday, August 20, 2015, in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 E. State St., Sharon. Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. Thursday in St. Rose Cemetery Chapel, Dutch Lane, Hermitage, with the Rev. Thomas Whitman, pastor of St. Joseph Church, Sharon, as celebrant. Interment: St Rose Cemetery, Hermitage.
