Obituary

Helen E. Chlpka, 500 Clarksville Road, Hermitage, formerly of Crawford Drive in the Patagonia section of Hermitage, passed away peacefully at 8: 40 p.m. on Thursday (4-2-09) in UPMC Horizon Hospital, Farrell, of natural causes. She was 94.
Helen was born on August 4, 1914 in Bolivar, Pa., the daughter of Joseph and Anna Hoyney Noga.
She attended school in Patagonia where she lived most of her life.
She was a homemaker and belonged to STS. Peter & Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Sharon, and the church Alter Guild.
Mrs. Chlpka was a charter member of the Patagonia Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary, and the American Carpatho Russian Citizens and Social Club Ladies Auxiliary, Sharon.
Her husband, John Chlpka whom she married on June 29, 1935 passed away October 25, 1960.
She leaves her three sons, John A. Chlpka and his wife Shirley, Hermitage; Joseph Chlpka and his wife Beverly, Delaware Township; and Paul M. Chlpka Sr. and his wife Sandy, Pymatuning Township; seven grandchildren, John K. Chlpka (Nancy), Jody Lynn Chlpka, Alan Chlpka (Michele) Michael Corcoran (Tawnya), Tina Jozwiakowski (Keith), Dr. Paul M Chlpka Jr. (Angelina) Matthew Chlpka (Jamie); one sister, Mary Sobey; 10 great grandchildren, Adam, Kayli, Sarah, Lydia, Andrew, Alexander, Samuel Chlpka; Cody Corcoran, Kolin and Konrad Jozwiakowski.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her three brothers, Peter, Joseph, and John Noga, four sisters, Anna Kapusta, Pauline Batcher, Margaret Noga, and Mildred Kapusta.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Holy Trinity Lutheran Cemetery and sent to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church 3325 Morefield Rd, Hermitage Pa 16148, or to the charity of the donors Choice.
Calling hours: 5 to 8 p.m. Monday (4-6-09) in the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory Inc 1090 E State St. Sharon.
Services: A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday (4-7-09) in STS. Peter and Paul Lutheran Evangelical Church, 699 Stambaugh Ave., Sharon, with Rev. Jeffrey M. Harter, Pastor officiating. A procession will leave the funeral home for the church at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday morning.
Interment: Holy Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Hermitage.
