Obituary

Helen Gelesky Camp, 654 Stambaugh Ave., Sharon; formerly of Hermitage, passed away at 7 p.m. Friday (12-31-10) in the hospital of the Sharon Regional Health System following an extended illness. She was 72.

Mrs. Camp was born September 14, 1938 in Sharon a daughter of the late Walter and Evelyn Buchanan Gelesky.

She was a 1956 graduate of Sharon High School and attended Grove City College School of Nursing.

Helen was a homemaker and a member of the New Virginia United Methodist Church, Hermitage.

Evelyn enjoyed going to flea markets; camping at Pymatuning Lake where she had a camp; and was an excellent cook. She was very proud of her large family and was affectionately known by them as 'Honey' and 'Hud'.

Her husband, Peter H. Camp, whom she married November 17, 1956, died July 14, 1974.

Surviving are: a daughter, Evelyn 'Lyn' Farr and her husband Joe, Kansas City, MO; three sons, Peter Camp and his wife Carol, Mercer; and Brian and Rodney Camp, both Sharon; five grandchildren, twins Darrick and Danielle; and Nickolas, Ian and Carly; four sisters, Violet Greenawalt and her husband Ron, West Middlesex; Marge Dillon and her husband Ray, also West Middlesex; Barb Hibbard and her husband Tom, Mercer; and Lucille Shaffer and her husband Harlan, Transfer; four brothers, Walter 'Butch' Gelesky, Jr. and his wife Barb, West Middlesex; Steven Gelesky, Hermitage; Larry Gelesky, Aurora, CO; and Andy Gelesky, Wheatland; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents and husband, Helen was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Alice and Don Cripps.

Calling hours will be 3-6 p.m. today (1-3-11) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 E. State St., Sharon.
