Helen E. Bailey, 88, of New Castle passed away Christmas Day, Sunday, Dec. 25, 2016, at UPMC Jameson Care Center.

She was born on Nov. 25, 1928, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late John and Catherine Reilly Tighe.

Helen graduated from St. Mary of the Mount High School, Pittsburgh, and then attended the University of Pittsburgh.

While in college, she met her future husband, Reginald Bailey, and they were married in 1950. Reginald and his father operated Bailey Sales and Service, until retiring in 1997.

Prior to her marriage, Helen was employed by the Joseph Horne Co., downtown Pittsburgh, and later in her life she worked in real estate sales for McBurney Reality and John McClure Reality, both New Castle. She retired in 1995.

Helen was a member of St. Camillus Parish.

She enjoyed playing Bridge, gardening, reading and having conversations with her grandchildren.

Surviving are two daughters, Janet Insler and her husband, Harvey, of Erie, and Elizabeth Giancola and her husband, David, of Sewickley, Pa.; three sons, Terry Bailey and his wife, Cindy, of New Castle, Randall Bailey and his wife, Michelle, of Millersville, Maryland, and Reginald and his wife, Yvonne, of Washington D.C.; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Reginald A. Bailey; a brother, James Tighe; and a sister, Nancy Moorhead.

In accordance with Helen's wishes, all services will be held privately.

Entombment will follow in Castle View Memorial Gardens.
