Heath James Moffatt of 532 Douglas Dr. New Castle, passed away at 9:45 p.m. Thursday, March 25, 2010 in the 500 Block of N. Cedar St. Mahoningtown. He was 31.

Mr. Moffatt was born in New Castle, PA on September 3, 1978, a son of Robert and Patricia Donnelly Moffatt.

He was a 1996 graduate of Shenango High School. Heath went on to graduate from the Youngstown State Police Academy. He had attended additional classes at Y.S.U. in Criminal Justice.

Heath was a dockworker for Pitt-Ohio. Previously Heath was employed as a Sheriff's Deputy for Mahoning County and a police officer in Washingtonville, OH.

Mr. Moffatt enjoyed, sports cars, boating, and most of all he had a passion for fishing. Heath spent a lot of time teaching his niece and nephew about education and life lessons.

We loved him and will miss him. Please pray his soul will be with Jesus.

Survivors include: his parents, Robert and Patricia Moffatt of New Castle; 2 brothers, Shane Moffatt of New Castle, and Ryan Moffatt of Scottsdale, AZ; a niece Isabella Moffatt and a nephew Alaric Moffatt.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Martha and Jim Donnelly and his paternal grandparents, Elizabeth and Eugene Moffatt Sr.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 29, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
