Hazel M. Klingle, formerly of 380 Robertson Rd., Hermitage, passed away at 11:05 p.m. Friday (12-12-08) in Wesbury United Methodist Retirement Community, 31 N. Park Ave., Meadville, PA following years of declining health. She was 88.
Mrs. Klingle was born February 20, 1920 in Greenville, PA a daughter of the late Clarence and Zurnes Groce Kiser.
She was raised in Greenville and was a 1937 graduate of Greenville High School.
Mrs. Klingle was employed at the former Sharon Store for fifteen years and retired in 1989 from the former Whitmer-Smith Clothing Store, Sharon, where she worked in the children's department for twenty years.
She was of the Methodist faith and was a member of the German Home, Farrell. Hazel was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed making her children's clothing and later the wedding gowns for her daughters.
Her husband, Steve E. Klingle, whom she married March 2, 1940, passed away July 13, 2002. They celebrated 50 years of marriage in 1990.
Surviving are: two daughters, Shirley Everett and her husband Rodney, Cochranton, PA; and Bonita Brown and her husband Earl, Guys Mills, PA; a son, Ronald Klingle and his wife Frances, Warren, Ohio; five grandchildren, Brett, Brian and Wendy Everett; and Shari Barickman and Lynnda Deane; and eleven great grandchildren.
Besides her parents and husband, Hazel was preceded in death by a sister Betty Jean Ridenour; and two brothers, Clarence Kiser, Jr. and Maurice Kiser; an infant great granddaughter, Cassandra Everett.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Wesbury United Methodist Retirement Community, 31 N. Park Ave.; or to the Hospice of Crawford County, 448 Pine St., both Meadville, PA 16335.
