Harry D. (Pap) Heasley, 80, of 1401 Highland Ave., died the evening of January 9, 2010 in Edison Manor Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

Harry was born on June 25, 1929 in Whiting, Indianna to the late Harry P. and Elsie Thompson Heasley. He attended Union High school and served in the U.S. Marine Corp, enlisting on January 20, 1947 and serving until January 19, 1950 when he was honorably discharged as a corporal. Harry was employed for 27 years at U.S. Steel, Ellwood City works as a machine operator and later retired from ESSROC Materials, Inc., after 15 years of service as a security guard. He enjoyed gardening, wood working, painting and going fishing in his earlier years. He was a member of Mary, Mother of Hope Parish, St. Mary Church.

Harry is survived by one daughter, Tammy Viggiano and her husband Rick of Lakeland, Fl., two sons and daughters-in-law, Rodney and Karen Heasley and Harry and Phyllis Heasley of New Castle. Two Brother, James and his wife Josephine of Polk City, FL., and Bob Heasley of Berea, OH. Two sisters, Donna Vitale and her husband Joe of New Castle and Bonnie Valline and her husband Danny of Nevada, IA. Four Grandchildren, Chris and Randi Heasley, Kiley Ramseur and Ricky Viggiano. Seven great-grand children, Alexa, Jacob and Abby Caravella, Brendan,Evan and Presley Heasley and Izabella Ramseur

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Calling hours will be from 4 to 7 P.M. on Wednesday at the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home & Crematory, 111 W. Falls St. The New Castle Area Honor Guard will conduct full military rites in the funeral home at 7 P.M.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 9 A.M. at St. Mary Church, conducted by the Rev. Victor J. Molka Jr. Pastor.
