Harold Lee Herbin, 69, of New Castle, passed away unexpectedly early Monday evening, November 18, 2024.
Mr. Herbin was born August 7, 1955, in Brown Summit, N.C., a son of the late Harold D. Foust and Melba D. Herbin. He was raised and educated in Guilford County, N.C.
Harold enlisted and honorably served in the U.S. Army for four years until his discharge on June 3, 1980.
In the late '80s, he relocated to New Castle, PA, and met the former Carolyn R. Harrison. The two were married on July 6, 1987, and enjoyed 37 years together.
Harold was a member of the Prevailing Word World Outreach Center in Union Twp.
He is also survived by two sons, Christopher Herbin and Harold Herbin, Jr. (Francine), both of North Carolina; two stepchildren, Ulysses Walker (Arriba) and Sanford; three sisters, Shelva Conwell, Ernestine Royal, and Sharon Wheeler; two brothers, Wilbert Herbin and James Lamont Johnson; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by a stepson, Kelly.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday (11-26-24) in Prevailing Word, 114 Oakland Ave., New Castle.
A Home Going Celebration will be held immediately following at 12:30 p.m., in the church, with Apostle David Young, officiating.
Military honors will be rendered by the New Castle Area Honor Guard.
Interment: National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville, PA.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 111 W. Falls St., New Castle
